Invite your MP to attend an event

MPs across England need to hear first-hand what it’s like to go through the broken NHS continuing healthcare funding process while living with dementia.

In March, families affected by dementia will join with Dementia UK staff members to host a Fix the funding event for MPs in the UK Parliament.

At the event, we’ll give a clear message to all politicians: we want you to make sure that no one faces dementia alone by urgently reviewing the care funding process so that it meets the needs of people with dementia.

Ask your MP to attend now and help make sure that every MP in England receives an invitation.

Dementia UK's Fix the funding campaign is calling on the Government to urgently review the NHS continuing healthcare (CHC) funding process so that more people with dementia can access crucial funding when they need it.

CHC can be a lifeline for many people in England with long-term and complex health needs as it covers costs such as home carers or care home fees.

But families face significant obstacles in accessing vital funding and many are missing out because the assessment process is flawed and fails to meet the needs of people with dementia.

We need politicians to understand that it is unacceptable that people with dementia are being excluded from accessing funding because the current system does not meet their needs. With your help, we can get them to do the right thing and make the process fairer for families in desperate need of care and support.
